Lilly Walsh

Hey! My name is Lilly and this is my third year of studies at Monash Uni. I moved up to Melbourne from Sale in Gippsland in 2016 and I lived in Howitt Hall at Monash Residential Village for two years - one year as a resident and one year as an RA (Residential Advisor).

When I enrolled in this degree, I had no idea what my ideal career path would be and three years down the track, I'm still unsure. This year I have been working in a firm that specialises in Family Law/Property Law/Wills and Estates, which has given me a fantastic insight into the operations of a law firm and the role of a solicitor. 

Being part of the team behind the Humans of Monash Law initiative has given me some great opportunities to network and gain new skills, but the best part of it is meeting so many different Monash graduates and learning about their vastly different career paths. My interviewees have given me new ideas for paths I might follow in the future. I think the most important thing is to get experience in several different areas of law so that you can find your own niche.
