Sandy Gamaralalage

2nd Year Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/ Bachelor of Arts (International Relations Major).

 

Hey, my name is Sandy and I’m currently completing my undergraduate studies in law. Whilst I’m not the kind of person to have ‘hobbies,’ I usually spend my time hiking and chilling with my bunny Pluto.

 

Starting university last year, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I knew I was interested in law but doubtful as to whether it was a path that would really suit me. I had an image in my mind of what being a lawyer would entail – and naturally doing such a degree, I thought it was an idea that by the end of the degree, I should come to embody. However, since starting this project and from meeting the people I have, I’ve come to realise how narrow my views were.  

 

A law degree is so much more than the career it will give you. Rather, it is the chance to broaden our views and gain skills that may be used in a myriad of fields - just look at some of our interviewees! So, while this has been a learning experience for me, we hope that it will help you look at your future without limits.
